8th Grade - Introduction to leadership
When people think of leadership, famous military generals may come into mind or maybe a CEO of a giant corporation. People associate leadership with power and prestige. The thing is, everyone is a leader in their own right. You have power to become the person you want and to develop the qualities and skills that others admire and strive to have. Everyone has different strengths and abilities that will allow them to become a leader; you just have to change the way you view leadership and see the world to make it happen.

A paradigm is how you perceive your surroundings and events in life. Paradigms influence your beliefs as well as your point of view. Most people have inaccurate or incomplete paradigms that may have a negative effect on life. The challenge is to change your "glasses" and develop more accurate paradigms that help determine what is most important in life.

changing your view of leadership - lollipop moments
Drew Dudley explains how the smallest and trivial act of kindness can be life changing for someone else. By changing your view of leadership, you will come to see that everyone has the ability to lead in some way.
"If we can find a way to make the experience of leadership into something that brings people positive feelings, I think more people will make it a fundamental part of their everyday life. It will become something they do without thinking –in other words, they’ll create a “culture of leadership” in their lives." -Drew Dudley
